LO #10 U Mates

Another layout I did last week

which I followed one of the sketches in Sketchpad, so inspired by Paige Evan's use of pattern papers, she rocks with papers :)
really like paper weavings, it is so cool and fun, and I don't have to plan much

I sticked the edges of the paper strips on the base on both horizontal and vertical sides

then, started doing the work, the paper strips kept on hitting my face =__=

one thing I did extra is to add a few dimension on the criss-cross :)

Thanks for visiting!

Findings, hauls and peeks

This will be a long post with tons of haul photos about this. So, if you are not a 'photo-person', uhm... you may not like this post

Start off with great findings in my grandma's house last week,ALL so vintage, so old, so rugged, tattered... me likey. The little red book is my grandpa's old driving license book with his photo in it, Wow. If only my grandparents own a typewriter...

Here's the haul now:
After many terrible out-of-control haul experiences, I know I have to list down items that I want before freaking out in a scrapbook store and ended up forgetting things that I was supposed to geta long list of stores to visit and some items I hope still available in stores

These weren't in my list, but they must be brought homeTombow with a lowwwwww price, FINALLY FOUND SMALL TAGS!!!! *lucky me*, and mamamia delicious colors of highlighters, yes, they are highlighters from Japan, darn those Japanese came up with haul-able(a new term) things
I got them in Popular bookstore -- Causeway Point, Woodlands (Singapore). those tags are hidden only in specific popular stores.

First Singapore LSS to aim*ALARM* scrapbooking supplies are all 40% off

The little blue luggage was for free when spent over $80 :D
Been waiting for the Corner Chomper for yearrrrrrrssssssss, finally got it!
I love the FOC package 12'' by 12'', with 3 papers inside

Snatched the ONE FINAL BOTTLE of Lemonade Huey that I've been searching*bravo + fireworks*

Punches are buy one free one... whoooop, goes my hands with the Martha Stewart onesThe Hambly washi tapes are killing me, these are really expensive though, and it comes in lesser yards as compared to the japanese ones:( not worth it. The blue Mark's tapes are nice
Gotten some Hambly since there is a 40% discount, these are beeeeeeeautiful! I saw one of AmyTan's mini book with the yellow lattice and I knew I have to get them, the camera is UGGGHHHH so stunning, not to mention woodgrain, come on... it's woodgrain alright!

EchoPark's Style Essential with the Houndstooth design, bitten by the Houndstooth bug...
[backside]

I've gotten the amazing.....
from American Crafts.. you really need to see them in person, they look different from digital photos..
.

I hope some of these could persuade you, haha... and the Remarks sticker book is a good deal!!! for only RM8 (USD$2.70) WOW! normally I get to see them with a price of RM24 or more...

This is one of the freebies, not sure how to use it, my friend YINGyING is a "blinger" (you know people who are crazy about blingy stuffs?), so I'm gonna let her add to her bling stash

I don't have any photos of the other LSS that I went to, but it is exactly in the same mall but different floor with PaperMarket, Made With Love <--- website linked
I had purchased more than 8 items so I got the 40% discount again!!!
Thickers :) Twines:) Stickers:)
I am in love with Crate now, very. The Ski Lodge paper just took my heart away...sigh...and I've gotten two of the papers, one more left in store for a lucky one :)Some twines with colours that I don't have...love the airmail and christmas one!

I'm so thankful to Juanna :D who lent me her membership card, and so I was able to enjoy the great deals in both of the stores.. Thanks Juanna, i love you *blush*... and oh dear... she gave me this... :O
I LOVE YOU

LO #9 Good Times

good gracious, my internet connection welcomed me by giving me an 'Internet connection fail' note. I couldn't access the net for 3 to 4 days. No connection, no inspiration, no scrap. That does it!

i did this before heading to Singapore,
trying to use a wooden hanger here to make things not so boring for you, hope that works :)
I wanted to follow one of the sketches in Kelly Purkey's Sketchpad, but then ended up a sketch that is totally different from the one I aimed for. I wanted to use the Petals from Basic Grey ( Miss C. gave them to me :D THANKS!) so the sketch from Sketchpad didn't work well :( I totally had no clue how to use the petals and I am not a fan of 2-dimensional flowers, so I made and layered to a 3D flower instead. (I think I may post a little tutorial here, I guess.....) it turned out good for me :)

Really hope to sew and get real stitches across the banners, but I have no sewing machine. Faux stitches with white pen does the trick
oh I love the bee stamp from American Crafts!!!

A pretty flower here *happy*, and I did stitches on the layout, it's pretty cool, Amy Tan is really a genius!
splatters again, I have to do that.

:) hope it inspires you in anyway. and I overspent in Singapore for scrap supplies again! shhhhhhhhhhhhhh.it.

LO #8 Just an Ordinary Day

ALOOOOOOOOHA! one lay out to share before heading to Singapore and shop some really good stuffs there. The photo is ugly, i know. My friend, Erin and I used to do actions like these and uhm.... I have lots of photos similar like that. I found out this photo of my layout is quite boring, i don't know, maybe the colour quality or something? I used my phone instead of the camera to snap photos, the phone comes in handy and quick.
This is the first layout using distress inks, they are at the corners. And bronze mist + splat Tattered Leather mist. I can't get the blingy-mist-look caught in the camera.
I tried using some prima flowers, and I found out that AMY TANGERINE LEAVES + PRIMA FLOWERS IS A GOOD MATCH!!!!!
I opened a Studio Calico's NOTION flower and make it as a crepe scalloped border, wow, i think it's cool. The title is wavy with the help of my 'thrifty pop up dots'.
Thanks for poppin' by :)

Pattern paper: Cratepaper--FarmHouse, Stickers: Cratepaper--Farmhouse border and Random accents, Flowers: Prima, Leaves: AmyTangerine, Crepe border: StudioCalico--Notions flowers, Title: MyMinds'Eye--Lost&Found2 Rosy, Mist: TatteredAngels--Tattered Leather and Bronze

sharing a bit of LO #7 Splash

Wow, I have so many layouts to share here, been gone crazy about making layouts. I made this in the middle of the night, once my finals was over . Sorry for some of the dim photos, cause some was taken at night. I will take photos of layouts during the day next time, since I learnt my lesson. But some of the 'process' photos must be taken at night while I'm working with it :) I'm not gonna share the whole layout, cause I don't think it's done yet... need a star punch here to add some yellow stars. So here's just an idea to inspire you with Studio Calico's mist -- white and blue onesA few things I wanted to start with:
HA! AGAIN! I didn't use everything, just Calico White mist, Bonny Blue mist, Kraft Cardstock and a photo, and do-it-yourself star burst template
It ended up like that, which I think it was not bad after all :)
For the SPLASH title, I used American Craft's Sunrise Chipboard (naked) Thickers, ink it with Versamagic Cloudwhite, dab some Seafoam colour at the bottom, and colour more white with my pen. (sorry for the dim photo)
That's it! I hope I can get my star punch soon, then I'll share the whole excitement of the layout again :D
please feel free to ask me anything by leaving a comment, and there will be more layouts to come!!!!

There's this app for iPhone called PhotoWall, it's easy to use and I love it!
so i try making some zoom in collages for my LO#9:
